Menu:
Ten-Bean Soup || Women's Bean Project
Salad with Pistachios, Dill Havarti, Cucumber
Before we were moving, one of my vendors brought me a packet of Ten-Bean Soup made by the Women's Bean Project. It's a non-profit organization "helping women break the cycle of poverty and unemployment" by offering transitional employment in gourmet food manufacturing. As their website says, they don't hire women to make and sell bean products -- they make products to hire women. As an added bonus, the soup was damn good. The only extras I added were some carrots and celery, but the possibilities are endless.
P.S. Just when I was getting back into the groove and remembering to use the good camera for pictures of our dinners, the Mr. took it on a business trip. Technically it IS his, but still. The nerve.
